The advantages of NVQ qualification in the Health and Social Care.
Since qualifying in the health and Social care profession - NVQ level Three and Assessor Award from The Daughters of Divine Love I have worked as an Assessor with Lambeth College and Domiciliary Care Manager with Community Home Care Provider where I used my Assessor Skills to ensure that carers worked up to the required National Standard with their clients.
I am in the process of completing a Verifier Award in Health and Social Care with their clients.
Also I am in the process of acquiring a Home to care for people with Learning disabilities/Care of the elderly with the hope of utilising my qualification effective to help vulnerable people in the community and create jobs for the unemployed.
I am one of the many students who have trained at the Daughters of Divine Love Training Centre (D.D.L.T C). Since training and attaining an NVQ Care Level III in 2003, a lot has changed in my work and it has opened many opportunities. Currently, I am the Registered Mananger of my own Care Home - The Alpha Home, which is a home for People with Learning Disabilites. The Home currently provide Care for two Service User, and I am waiting for two more.
All this has been possible because of the Knowledge and experience I have gained since doing the NVQ Course. While at this Course, the Center enabled me and prepared me for more openings. Wherever I have worked since 2003 I have been able to demonstrate skills and feel more confident in my work.
The Centre supports the student throughout the course. When it is time for placement, a student is sent to a Home or Nursing Home where he/she continues getting help and skills, and is always getting supervision. With such support, a student after training has chance of progressing or showing professionalism in his/her work; and I am quite happy that I trained at D.D.L.TC.
I am also intending to recommend some of my staff not yet having the required minimum qualifications in Care to try this Centre.
Reflective Account on my course:-
I learned the positve aspects of care. The contents of the course helped me to do my work effectively. The course made me think how I do my work effectively. The course made me think how I do my work and what I have to do. It has made me make plans and consider what I should achieve. The course helped me to understand the legal Issues. I learned about the organisational policies and procedures. It enabled me to maintain the standard and to do the work with quality and a lot of satisfaction. I am very happy about my process and the quality of teaching in the Daughters of Divine Love. I am very thankfull to my assessors who helped a lot to complete my course.
